Remembrance Sunday
On 14 November we will be remembering all those who have given their lives in the fighting for peace and justice in the two world wars and in subsequent wars and conflicts. The Service will start at 9.45am in Church and online with the Act of Remembrance at the Reigate War Memorial outside the Church at 11.00am. The Collection that day in Church will be given to Combat Stress, a charity that supports disabled veterans and their families. Any gifts made online between 11 November and 15 November will also be donated to this worthy charity. Please be generous in your support. Our thanks to Jo Cooper for playing the Last Post and Reveille.

Confirmation
There will be a Confirmation Service in St Mark’s at 4.00pm on Sunday 7 November 2021 when we will be welcoming Bishop Jonathan to the parish for the last time.

All Souls Memorial Service
The annual All Souls’ Memorial Service is on Sunday 31 October at 6.00pm in Church and online. We will be remembering our loved ones departed during the prayers in this service.

Pet Service
On Sunday, 3 October, our Family Service at 4pm will take the form of a Pet Service.  Please bring along any pet you may have (in a safe way!) for them to be blessed as part of this service.  All are welcome.

Harvest Festival
We will be celebrating Harvest at all services on Sunday 3 October.  Any gifts of tinned or long-life food brought for Harvest will be donated to St Matthew’s Foodbank.  The demand for the Foodbank is still extremely high, yet we have seen a dramatic drop in donations.  Please give whatever you can for this worthy cause to the 8.00am, 10.00am and 4.00pm services on that day.

Worship Update
We have reviewed our current ‘rules’ in Church.  We have opened up all the pews and we simply ask individuals to be mindful of those around them and respect anyone who wishes to be distanced from others.  Face coverings are at the individual’s discretion, and the congregation may sing, if they wish, without masks, but if you are close to others you might consider wearing a mask as a courtesy to them..

Church Gardens
We are planning working parties to get the garden areas cleared of weeds. Gardening skills are not required as some parts just need tidying. If you can spare even an hour, we could make the gardens, car park and War Memorial looking as they should – well cared-for. Saturdays 31 July and 14 August are the dates (with more to follow if necessary) starting at 9.00am until 12 noon. Refreshments will be provided.

This year we have chosen Saturday 22nd May to launch our Annual Giving which is exactly 161 years since St mark’s was opened and dedicated. Full details of what Gift Day is, why funds are needed and how to donate can be found here.
