An Appeal From Terrence Hancock

Twenty-five years ago this year my late wife lost her fight against cancer.

On 2 June my younger son, David, will be 45, and in his own words, “I'd like to honour my mum's strength, bravery and fighting spirit by raising some money for Cancer Research UK to help other 20 year old boys to not have to tackle what I had to all those years ago”.

One of David’s great passions is cycling, and he is to undertake a challenge where he will ride a stationary bicycle through ten stages of something between 44 and 150 minutes back to back with no more than a ten minute break between each. It will mean roughly 11 hours in the saddle.

To use again David’s own words, “If you can find it in your heart to wish me luck, thank you - if you can find it in your pocket, wallet, purse or back of the sofa to sponsor me, thank you too”.

If you would like to help, you can make a donation on-line via David’s “Just Giving” page (www.justgiving.com/fundraising/david-hancock11) or you can pass donations directly to me (cheques payable to me) and I can send one sum on behalf of St Mark’s congregation.

Thank you all so much.
